How it works

The goal is a clearer equipment journey: useful upgrades along the way, meaningful choices for your character and hunts, and powerful endgame goals that take time to work towards. This is a development direction, not a final item-requirement table. Exact balance changes are still being finalised.

A journey of upgrades, not a rush to the final set

Hojnar’s long-term goal is for equipment to matter alongside your level, skills and decisions. A stronger character should have worthwhile equipment choices at different stages, instead of treating everything before endgame as disposable.

1. Build a reliable foundation. Choose equipment your character can use and sustain comfortable hunts with it. Learn your damage, healing and supplies before chasing a distant upgrade.
2. Make useful intermediate upgrades. Work towards pieces that help your current goals. A sensible upgrade now can be more valuable to your adventure than saving every resource for the final set.
3. Adapt to the challenge. Consider your vocation, weapon, resistances and the enemies you intend to fight. A prestigious item name is not a substitute for a suitable setup.
4. Grow towards endgame. The most powerful equipment is a long-term goal. Not owning the best set early does not mean your character is behind or unable to enjoy the game.

How you work towards equipment on Hojnar

Browse Benjamin’s equipment and trading requirements, collect loot on your hunts, and use the Blacksmith to review crafting and salvage options. Equipment tier upgrades have their own interface, costs and conditions. These systems give you goals to work towards without depending entirely on a large group.

We are reviewing equipment impact and the requirements that place items along this journey. The balance work is still in progress. This page explains the intended experience; use the current in-game item tooltip and trading window for the requirements actually available to your character. Do not base a purchase on a speculative future requirement.
